During a complete remodel of the kitchen and breakfast area the built-in cabinets were removed. The client prefers Prairie Style cabinets and the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. We took Wright's Browne Bookstore as the inspiration for the glass design.
The cabinet door panels were inserted on site. The transom is an enlargement of the Browne Bookstore design but using opalescent glass as the background and reversing the colors of the cabinet doors.
The doors above the wine safe and counter hold the glassware and balance the room.
For the backsplash, we used the same glass as tile. We used gray grout to simulate lead lines.
